Breton roots

It was during a holiday in Brittany, specifically in Aber-Wrac’h, that we met one summer, each having just returned from a sailing trip with friends. From this first shared passion, another, even greater one, quickly blossomed: a lifelong project…

With Breton roots, one of us coming from a lineage of sailors and the other from a more rural background, we both come from families where food is a central part of life! Our interest in wine grew with our culinary experiences, but also through our reading, which inspired us to dream of cultivating vines.

Complementary skills

As a student in international agricultural development at ISTOM, it was in California that Thomas first began making wine, as part of an internship at a small vineyard in the Sonoma Valley. The following year, the young couple, just married, flew out to California again for 6 months.

On their return, Thomas was hired as a wine merchant in Paris and Charlotte, with a degree in communications and management, as a press attaché specializing in health and nutrition. Thomas continued his professional career as a technical consultant in viticulture-oenology for independent winegrowers in Reims, then in Provence, where he worked with some of Provence’s flagship estates (Miraval, Commanderie de Peyrassol, Château Margüi…).

Their dream of producing their own wines guided their intuitions. It became a reality in 2008 with the purchase of the Clos de l’Elu estate, where they combined their skills.  They are now anchored in the Armorican Massif.
